This final piece of art follows a combination of visuals and audio that represent the social constructs of beauty throughout different eras. In my piece, I take the listener through the 1950s, 1980s, and 2020 in a dream sequence. The social construct of beauty is changing constantly and by using my voice to speak up about this, I am hoping to help start conversations among my listeners. The idealization and fixation on the female body have impacted the mental health of many. I used song and music video as my mediums. I began with the vocal and melodic production and shortly followed with the video shoot where I projected a montage of archived footage I had found and edited together on the wall above me as I narrated the story on camera. In addition to this, I used red silk and a black backdrop to shoot abstract shots that would add to my themes. For the year 2020, I took my camera and shot scenes around my hometown. I aim to continue with my work on this project by finalizing the production in mixing and mastering and releasing it to the public in 2021 through my artist name. Thank you, Enjoy!
